2024 Product Round-Up

We added 35 new bras to our line-up this year. This means more options for where we were short – but also a potentially overwhelming selection when you are new to the brand. To help match you to your perfect bra, we rounded up our best bras of 2024.

Best Overall

Our core category this year is unpadded underwire bras. Zoe (C/D/DD), Salma (DDD/G/H), and Tilda (I/J/K) are our best picks for their respective size ranges. These three styles exemplify Understance’s market positioning – between natural and major lift, between soft and firm, and forgiving in fit.

If you are a first timer at Understance, these are the tried-and-true options that we recommend starting with.

Renee wears Zoe in 44C

Puja wears Salma in 34DD

Alicia wears Tilda in 32I

Best for Fuller Cup Wireless

Our best wireless bras for bigger cups are Ginger (for maximum support) and Cooling Wireless (for a touch less coverage). They both come in DD-J cups. These two styles have as much structure as we could build into wireless bras.

Unlike most wireless bras for larger cup sizes, Ginger and Cooling have shorter bands, which reduce rolling.

They also give you some definition, reducing the “monoboob” look that typically comes with non-wired bras.

Cicely wears Ginger in 40G

Tiana wears Cooling Wireless in 30DDD

Best for L/M/N Cup

We introduced L/M/N cup bras for the first time in 2024. Our pick for this category is Rhea.

As much as our product team was tempted to make everything gentle and soft, we took a different approach with Rhea. Our customers told us that firm is comfort when you are in I-N cup territory.

This bra is pretty much non-stretch in the cups and straps – good enough for some bounce control when you walk down the stairs or jog a few steps to catch the bus. The crisscross straps can be a bit much – but they are really there for a functional reason.

Katharine wears 42K

Lightweight, breathable unpadded cups

Best for Early Transition (MtF)

Our pick for this category is Chloe. Chloe goes up to a 46 band and is available in A-D cups. It’s excellent for smaller breasts that have a lot of space in between them.

The light cotton padding (CoForm) provides some shape and makes the bra asymmetry-friendly.

Khamisa wears 34B

Thin, seamed cotton cups

Best for Seniors

Our best bras for seniors are Ivy for underwire and Symmetry Wireless for no underwire. These two are our most popular options for customers aged 65 and above. Both styles balance support with comfort, while being forgiving on looser skin. They have light padding for nipple coverage (Ivy is part of our CoForm collection).

Ivy and Symmetry Wireless feel like a hug, but we wouldn’t describe them as “compressive.” One customer described putting on Ivy as “I’ve come home.”

Ruth wears Ivy in 38D

Carol wears Symmetry Wireless in 40D
(her left breast is a C cup, her right breast is a D cup)

Best for Small Band Big Cup

Our most popular bra for small band big cup is Yara. Yara has deep cups and a low center gore. It wears like a true demi. Unlike many bras for fuller cups, Yara is a daring, revealing bra.

But don’t be fooled by its dainty look – the power mesh cup lining gives good lift, and the lined wings give side support. Added bonus: the stretch lace top is forgiving on asymmetrical breasts.

Caitlyn wears 30I

Angela wears 30DDD

Best for Petite

Our pick for 30-38, A/B/C goes to Light ‘n Free. Light ‘n Free is the second generation of our petite, seamless product line. It’s an answer to a common fitting issue that our petite customers have: ribcage discomfort.

Light ‘n Free gets rid of pressure points and distributes weight evenly across the entire bra. Unlike most bras that look somewhat like it, Light ‘n Free’s fabric doesn’t loosen or ripple with wear.

Berlin wears 30A/B/C

Fay wears 34 A/B/C

Light ‘n Free is also in cami and racerback pull-over styles.

  1. Hi I usually wear a 34 H but find I have back fat and behind arm overhang. Desperately searching for a proper fit. I have pendulum breasts. The left one usually had a pop out on the top. Can you suggest what bra I should wear.

    1. Hi Donna, we suggest Ginger based on your description. It has good side and back coverage, and is forgiving with asymmetry. It has a lot of structure and support for a wireless bra. If you are looking for an underwire option, we recommend Tilda or Quinn. Double check if it’s a US or UK 34H. If your current comes from a specialty boutique or you purchased it from a UK brand, the sizing is likely UK, which = 34K with Understance.
